History
Universita Politecnica delle Marche was founded in 1969 as the Libera Universita di Ancona, officially recognised as a state university in 1971, and renamed Universita Politecnica delle Marche in 2003 to reflect its polytechnic and technical identity -- though it remains a comprehensive public university with 5 faculties (Engineering, Economics, Medicine, Agriculture, Science), not a single-discipline Politecnico.
