What we collect, and why<\/h2>\n\n    <h3>Enquiries<\/h3>\n    <p>When you send us a message through the contact form, we receive the details you enter, such as your name, email address and the content of your message. We use them to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and, where your message concerns a purchase, performance of a contract.<\/p>\n\n    <h3>Accounts and purchases<\/h3>\n    <p>If you create an account or buy a plan, we process your email address, account credentials, plan and access period, and a record of your transaction. We use these to give you access to what you paid for, to provide support, and to meet our accounting and tax obligations. The legal bases are performance of a contract and compliance with a legal obligation.<\/p>\n    <p>We do <strong>not<\/strong> receive or store your full payment card details. Card data is handled directly by our authorised payment provider.<\/p>\n\n    <h3>Study progress<\/h3>\n    <p>If you use study cards or practice questions while logged in, we store your progress &mdash; for example which items you have reviewed and which need revisiting &mdash; so that the review system can work. The legal basis is performance of a contract.<\/p>\n\n    <h3>Display preferences<\/h3>\n    <p>This site can adapt which guidance is shown to you, for example by billing region or by the admission track you are preparing for. Where you make such a selection, it is stored in a first-party cookie as a short code such as <code>eu_eea<\/code> or <code>imat<\/code>. This is a preference, not an identity: it contains no name, email address or location data.<\/p>\n    <p>By default this site does <strong>not<\/strong> look up your IP address to guess your location. Region is whatever you select, or what a link you followed specified. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing relevant information, and you can change or clear the preference at any time.<\/p>\n\n    <h3>Server logs<\/h3>\n    <p>Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are retained for a limited period by the host and are not used by us to build profiles of visitors.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>3. Cookies<\/h2>\n    <p>We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, including keeping you logged in and remembering the display preferences described above. If we later add analytics or marketing cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting them and update this policy.<\/p>\n    <p>You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Removing the preference cookies simply returns the site to its default, unpersonalised state.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>4. Who we share data with<\/h2>\n    <p>We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to run the service:<\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li><strong>Hosting provider<\/strong> &mdash; stores the website and its database.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Payment provider<\/strong> &mdash; processes payments and handles card data. Identified at checkout before you pay.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Email delivery provider<\/strong> &mdash; sends transactional messages such as account and purchase confirmations.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.<\/p>\n    <p>Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an approved transfer mechanism such as the European Commission&rsquo;s Standard Contractual Clauses.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>5. How long we keep data<\/h2>\n    <ul>\n      <li><strong>Enquiries:<\/strong> normally up to 24 months after the exchange ends.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Account and study-progress data:<\/strong> while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove it, apart from anything we must retain by law.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Transaction and invoice records:<\/strong> for the period required by Estonian accounting and tax law, currently seven years.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Preference cookies:<\/strong> up to 180 days, or until you clear them.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n\n    <h2>6. Your rights<\/h2>\n    <p>If the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing carried out beforehand.<\/p>\n    <p>To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our <a href=\"\/italy-med\/contact\/\">contact page<\/a>. We respond within one month, and will tell you if we need longer because a request is complex.<\/p>\n    <p>You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Estonia this is the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aki.ee\/en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">aki.ee<\/a>). You may also complain to the authority in your own country of residence.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>7. Children<\/h2>\n    <p>This service is intended for people preparing for university entrance examinations. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>8. Security<\/h2>\n    <p>We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on administrative systems. No online service can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to reduce risk.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>9. Changes to this policy<\/h2>\n    <p>We may update this policy as the service changes or as legal requirements evolve. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated by reasonable means.<\/p>\n\n    <h2>10.
